What is transformational leadership?

A leadership approach that creates change in individuals and social systems. In its authentic form, enhances the motivation, morale, and performance of followers. In its ideal form, creates valuable and positive change in the followers with the end goal of developing followers into leaders.

Unfortunately, there exists a brutal truth that must be faced. The number one reason projects fail is the lack of executive sponsorship. Why do some people find change so difficult? There are two dimensions of successful change: the "external" change process and the "internal" (psychological and emotional) people transition. As such, the "internal" forms the majority of the iceberg, hidden from view and much more dangerous.

Transformational leadership starts with you.
